Proteins, enzymes, fatty acids, amino acids, and many other organic compounds are highly attracted to water surface therefore, the micro bubbles within the skimmer will be coated with the compounds and rises to the waste cup. By doing so, we can reduce the load of organic substance that need to be filtered by the biological filter and ultimately reduce the nitrate produced.

The PS3000 and PS4000 is a counter current type skimmer where air are diven from bottom to top while water enter from top countering the current of the air. This will create even more contact time of air bubbles and water which make it far more effective.
